The Churton Sauvignon Difference Tummil Flat |
Tummil Flat – The HistoryIn 1997 when we bottled our first vintage of Churton Sauvignon Blanc, Jonathan Butt, who until recently was the Global wine buyer for First Quench Retailing in the UK, was working with Churton in New Zealand. Jonathan has always been a great supporter of Churton and so we were keen to be able to supply him with his own “sister label”. We produce the Tummil Flat label especially for First Quench Retailing. The name Tummil Flat is the name of the farm where we live. The logo depicts stylized Kowhai stems; the native Kowhai trees grow in abundance on our property and form a backdrop to where we live and grow our grapes. At Churton we believe in maintaining high standards in all that we do – it is a philosophy that applies equally to our Tummil Flat label from the vineyard through to the packaging. The fruit is sourced from our own vineyard as well as from a long standing grower in the Wairau Valley. |
The wines both have Sam Weaver’s signature in that they are bone dry, have wonderful texture and length and offer complex flavours that partner well with food. You will find Tummil Flat in the Wine Rack stores in the United Kingdom. Please contact us for details on your nearest Wine Rack store to info@churton-wines.co.nz . |
